Wayne Hermanson

Wayne is the founder (1999) and Principal Consultant of Physical Risk, a South African based international security consulting company. Prior to Physical Risk, Wayne served as military practitioner (Lieutenant Colonel), specialising in guerrilla -, counter-insurgency , urban warfare and peacekeeping operations for 15 years.

Wayne has consulted internationally (24 countries across the African continent, UAE, South Asia, Europe and the US) to a broad range of blue-chip companies and enterprises. He has consulted across the physical security life cycle.

Wayne’s areas of speciality include:

• Security risk assessments and safeguard development for companies, organisations and enterprises operating globally
• Hostile environment (terror and/or excessive violence threats) security programs and/or project development and implementation
• Integrated physical protection system design and implementation projects
• Security services procurement (guarding and technology services) design, implementation and adjudication
• Development of security strategic plans, policy statements and standard operating procedures for a wide range of organisations and/or companies.
• Development and implementation of incentive driven service level agreements linked to a measurable security performance metrics system.
